Location: northern kentucky
New to the game and gathering up parts to build my first. Have a Beeline Pack Rat frame, 1915 air cooled motor, 33x12.50 boggers cut on aluminum wheels. Now I am going with or want to go with 3x3 trailing arms with air shocks on back. Time to purchase carbs and needing help..... Suggests on what to use. Brands, size, dual or single? I am a throttle junky that enjoys speed, jumping(not airing out ungodly), hill climbing, rough trails. Info on gas to run as well...... 91 or 93 octane
Note: i don't care to spend some money, I just don't to spend many an unbelieveable amount for everything.

dual weber 44's are a good way to go, but you'll have your work cut out for you getting them to run flawlessly. A single is easier, but less power. I'm told that delortos are easier to tune, but much harder to get and get parts for.

Growing up I had a toyota pick up i trail rode. It was carbarated and I bought a weber brand new. bolted it on and it ran great for 2 years at all seasons and then i flipped it in a creek and went under water and plus slight damaged from hitting a rock hard. So i replaced it with another brand new one and it never ever worked right or ran good. rebuild kits and everything. Up hill ran like a champion. down hill spuntered out unless throttle applied. So 50/50 on weber.

u aint got alot of choice on carbs,its either weber or dellortos,webers u can buy new

i bought a set of 44s last winter,it took about 3 weeks and almost pulling my hair out to get them rite but i loved them after that. then i blew my motor :evil:

yes thats a good carb, go to weber direct.com... it will save you a couple hundred, thats were i bought mine :wink:

its not just a simple bolt on and go, it will take some tuneing and some trouble shooting to get em rite, but once dialed in you will like them i think :mrgreen:
