if i were to change cams from a w110 to a w120 would i have to change pushrod length to keep the proper geometry?

im thinking yes, but i may be overthinking it :?

What's wrong with it like it is? I don't think it will run any better if you change the cam unless it is not the rwb buggy, the fk-series are the good ones nowadays and the fk-43 is darn close to the 110 cam as far as the specs goes.

you could always save some time and change rockers. Some people on here may not believe it, but there are other cams besides a w-110 on the market. I've been thrilled with my fk-43 and fk-44 cams.

What 1.4's do you have? Pauter makes a 1.5 roller, but they are pricey

rwb has pauter 1.4's this other motor has the scat "paddle foot" 1.4's

how would changing to the 1.5's change it given everthing else stays the same?

The older scat 1.4's actually lift around 1.45, so 1.5's wouldn't do alot. My old race motor has an fk-44 in it and makes good power down low and quits making power around 5500 rpm (on the dyno). It has all the torque you need for general woods riding and then some.

I DON'T THINK THAT THE 1.5'S WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE ON TOPEND. I ALWAYS THOUGHT MORE LIFT MADE MORE POWER BUT DID NOT AFFECT YOUR RPM RANGE. I THOUGHT THAT WAS ALL IN THE CAM. JUST MY OPINION AND IT COULD BE WRONG. I'M RUNNING A ENGLE 120 WITH 1.25 ROCKERS AND IT HAS ALL THE TOP AND BOTTOM END THAT I WANT. I DO ONLY RUN A SINGLE CARB,IF I RAN DUALS I GUESS THE RPM RANGE WOULD GO UP WITH THE EXTRA BREATHING ABILITY. I THINK IT IS ACTION IMPORTS WEBSITE HAS A EXCELLENT CAM CHART UNDER THE TECHNICAL LINK. AND ALL YA'LL KENTUCKY BOYS NEED TO GET OUT OF YOUR ENGLE 110 SIZE SHELLS :!: HA HA HA HA

Chris do you really think they are gunna tell you what they run. What I heard about the proven grounds this weekend the Kentucky Motors wouldnt shake a stick at the Bama boys. Maybe you need to ask around here. Think about it a engle 110 is made for a small to medium displacement motor. This will give you goobs of boottom end but very little top end. I ran a 110 in my motor I have now with ratio rockers and it sucked. After about 6000rpm it quit pullin. The cam I have now puts that 110 to shame. I will pm you with the specs.

     Pull the pump outta RWB. Whaddya see?

Proving grounds? Drag strip? I guarantee the AL motors whipped butt! Prolly the AL 4:56 R&Ps did the whippin. A stock geared buggy will spank mine in a drag race. Who cares though? I aint got a VW drag car....(not yet, waiting on time to work it some more, but it will have to stay on the blacktop) 8) 8)

Thats what I dont understand. Why put a gear stack tranny together if a stock gear box is gunna give you more wheel speed. To me its a lot cheaper to build a motor to give the performance your looking for. In a VW motor the camshaft is the the heart of the operation, so that part of the built is very critical. Thats just my opinion though. :| :| :|

i dont know who you been talking to but they are full of sh!t, if i could have got 3rd  i would have made that bama DRAG motor sweat, cause he only beat me a little over a buggy length and got me off the line also  on top of missing 3rd gear  on top of my buggy weighing over 100lbs more  and me weighing probably 100lbs more  for a total of at least 200 lbs more rolling down the track  and anybody that knows anything about drag racing knows what weight means 8)
