New guy to the VW world and wanting to build a rail and while searching for a parts car i came across a bug sittin in a lean to and left the guy a note to call me if he was interested in selling. He called today and says its a super beetle with Air conditioning and wants 2500 for the thing with no motor. Is this guy nuts or is there such a thing. :?: :?:

Yep. Dealers added it on to alot of the later ones. I think even came factory on some , too.
But 2500 is pretty strong, especially with no motor. I wouldnt give 2500 for a dozen superbeetles. Only thing good on it for a buggy IMO is rear torsion assembly, shift rod, steering shaft for the swivels, some misc small junk, and front rotors (if it even is late enough to have rotors).

$2500 is way to much unless it is a convertible that is not rusted. The AC was made in Texas by DPD and dealer installed. Lots of fun changing the #4 plug.

Thanks for the input, is a parts car even worth having?
I just thought if i could find something for 500 bucks
it might be worth it to have just miscellaneous stuff layin
around to save me few trips and headaches.

Even at $500 (your first post states 2500). If you live close to Afterburnt he has a much better deal on a standard beetle.
