Sounds like a good plan. I have a Sweet power steering pump for ya. You will need a mounting bracket. I need your shipping address.

BTW, what is the rotation direction on that pump?

It was on my 2332 VW motor.

Same belt that ran the alt/fan run the pump?
Do you have the bracket you used to mount it also?
Got any pics?

Thanks Steve

Yes the same belt ran both. I no longer have the mounting bracket. It was something I made up to work. Howe sells a vw braket designed for the VW motor.
Go here: http://www.howeperformance.com/accessories-brackets.htm
No pics that show anything that will aid you.
It locates the pump on the right side of the motor and I believe it uses the alternater stand bolts for mounting.

So Russ and I will be heading back down to D&K for Memorial weekend. Bruce 1 will be taking my buggy to Larry of Larry's speed shop in TN. Larry has agreed to do all of the labor for free (Bruce set all of this up). We will have to provideall of the parts. Larry will be putting an autostick in. I am told that when we get my buggy back it will be ready for me to jump in and drive (probabaly at the last hill climb of the season at D&K). It seems like a long time to waitbut I dont mind at all. So we still need steering parts whether we go with the s-10 set up or a good rack it doesn't matter to me I just want to try to get it down to about 1 1/2 turns lock to lock. I am going to call Larry tomorrow and see what ideas he has on that. I just want to say again that it is such an honor to be involved with such a great bunch of people that have so much compassion for for their fellow buggier (if thats a word). You are all truly a blessing to me and I consider myself lucky to know you all. Thank You.

For power steering Larry needs a Rack, and the CHAR LYNN TORQUE GENERATOR/ or unit that goes on the steering shaft. Also the Block. I am sure I have not called all the parts the right things (I do not know about power steering) He said that stuff cost a good bit. He also needs all the steering parts for the set up, all He has is the Pump that Jay gave me. Some one needs to call Larry that knows about Power steering stuff too find out what is needed, and then we need to see if we can get this stuff donated. ASAP! He is starting on his buggy Today.

Also, did you talk to Larry about the steering rack that is on Blind Chicken Racing's web site? The whole power rack is just $87.00 with a $17.00 core.I will purchase that rack and send to the speed shop but just need to know if Larry can do the mods to the rack before i purchase it?

Talked to Larry and he has started on you buggy. 1st order of business is to get it running good. But he needs the power steering stuff soon. I have sent Blind Chicken Racing a pm on how much he would charge to build a rack like he listed on here.

How many shirts have you sold Russ or Jay?

List them on this site under a new topic.

I gave Bruce the Char Lynn unit bought on Ebay,,we got a deal. Some competitors at Wheelers gave lots of their winnings at Wheelers for Jay. Some even went back to their truck and got more money to give. Not every winner gave their winnings,,,,not even me  . No one asked them to give their winnings but they did. I asked no one to give their winnings at our events, they just did out of the goodness of their hearts. I think we have enough money to finish Jays buggy but please donate if you want too,,he could use some upgraded items soon. At the series events if you want your reimbursement money it will gladly be given to you, otherwise it will be given to charity at the Finale.
