I sure hope not. Everytime things are looking good, something else happens to put the baja on the back burner. I really think things are going to workout this time

I picked up the long block last week and started putting some of the parts on today. I was hoping to put the engine in today but forgot to pick up the bolts to mount the pressure plate  Gonna pick up some more things from the bug shop tomorrow. Seems like every time I turn around I realize something else I forgot to get. I should have some pics for you guys tomorrow.

Not too many pics today. But here is a shot of the longblock and some of the parts I have. I have a friend coming over Wednesday to help me get the engine in the baja. Hopefully I will have some good pics then

Thanks. I have been working on it for about 2 years on and off. It seems like everytime I get some money together something else happens in my life that steals the money away.

I had that same problem, it was called DIVORCE! Don't think I'll ever recover from that.

Finally got a little more work done. The motor went in pretty easy but the exhaust sure was a pain in the ass to get on.
Image
Got some of the dash done. Still need to install the cig lighter and power supply plug. Just gonna run idiot lights for now until I get the thing up and running.
Image
Just a pic of some of the wiring mess. Cant wait to get everything hooked up so I can see what all I will have to change to get everything to work

Finally got the headlights installed. I had to do some trim work inside of the buckets to get the lights to fit right.

I also got the fuel pump installed. Take a look at all that dust!

Been doing a little bit more work every day during lunch and after work. All of the wiring is done accept for the engine stuff. I pulled the front suspension all apart and put it back together for the final time. Well, almost. I had to get a couple misc nuts and bolts today. Hopefully all of front suspension will be done tomorrow. Its been so long since Ive done any real work to the baja that I decided just to start at the front and work my way back making sure everything was right.

Just a little update on the progress....

All the front and rear suspension is done. All of the wiring is done except for where it hooks to the motor. Went to install the throttle pedal today and decided that I wanted to move all the pedals back some so I will be redoing that over the next couple days. I have a few more small things to do before I burn up the credit card to get this thing finished.

Thanks, hopefully it wont be too much longer.

I got the pedals all moved, but it created another problem  Now my lines wont reach. Im gonna try some rearranging tomorrow and see if I can work something out.

I also got the rear fenders installed. I really liked the way it looked without them and wasnt sure if I wanted to put them on, but all in all I think it looks better with them
Image

Im hoping my starter and alternator come in this weekend so I can get some more done on the motor. And maybe the Hardware store will be open tomorrow since the storm has moved away and I can get all my fittings for the lines.
Anybody have a 009 they want to sell? The one I had turned out to be a piece of crap
