Look for a little advice. My group and I are taking a few jeeps and my buggy up to Mio, MI to the Bull Gap Hill, surrounding ORV trails and seasonal roads. Does Bull Gap hill have an inspection station like Silver Lake? How about the other trail heads? I’m running a 4-1 collector with a baffled stinger on my street legal rail. Just wondering if I should buy a U-bend collector and a spark arrestor. Really don’t want to dump the extra money into it if I don’t have to. My buddy said just put some metal window screen over the tip of the stinger, but not sure that will fly… Anyone ever rode up there?

Plenty of times.
Baffles worked years ago but now if they can poke a stick in it, no go.
Has to be a true spark arrestor style device.

One like this is what I'd recommend.

Quite a few spark arresstors listed on this site. I'm sure most buggy shops can get one that clamps on, slips on or in or swaps for your current muffler.

I have an empi style comp exhaust where the collector is held on with springs. The stinger is 3.1”. I’m thinking a 3” clamp on arrestor could be persuaded to fit over the end of the stinger? I also thought about purchasing a U-bend collector and putting the arrestor on the end of that for a clean low profile look. How loud will it be with the U-bend-non baffled and the arrestor? I really like the sound of the baffled stinger right now.
