 Post subject: safety Harnesses

my question to all of you is: 4 point verses 5 point and 2" verses 3" straps?
and also where can i get the most bang for my buck?

i prefer 5 point with individual shoulder straps instead of the Y-type with the "pull down" adjusters, also i prefer the 3 in. over 2 in. and i would suggest getting some with shoulder pads also

There shouldn't be a preference. 5 point should be a mandatory minimum along with the 3" straps. The 5th strap keeps the lap and shoulder belts in their proper location on you and keeps you from submarineing under the belts in a rollover. The 3" straps spreads out the load more on your body reducing injury and bruising to the skin. And the pads keep things comfortable and help minimize injury as well. The best pricing seems to be at Summit Racing

Summit or Jeg's has their own private label safety stuff prettty cheap. Can't remember which one had them. I think it was Summit.

My experience!.... My rail originally only had 4 points, When I bought new harness' I got 5's , never really wore the crotch belt, Rode with dave hix ONE time..With crotch belt on, Which he said was mandatory . Guess what?! After that I wont move the buggy without all 5, only having 4 just doesnt feel safe at all Never new til i rode with dave and felt the difference while climbing. I got 5 - 3" wide

dont have any drag race buddies! not unless some of you all are drag racers and have an extra set laying around! plus i am a newbie so mt roll my buggy is not in the new future!! to old for that here hold my beer and watch this chit!!!! to!!! LOL!!!
