Looking for some good rear arms. Does anyone still have madmikes phone number? I heard his are bulletproof.

I have a set. They look like they are indestructible. I haven't put them on yet but I heard good things about them. The bearing carrier that Mike uses holds a double row outer bearing and 2 stock inner roller bearings. That's like 4 sets of bearings on each side.

the first number is how wide they are and the second is how far back they go from stock

If I remember correctly you have a bus torsion. That will make a difference in the arms. Also a bus is already 2x3 when compared to a car torsion.

Alright, i need to get my head out of my @ss and figure out if i want to rip my bus torsion out and run stock class with a car torsion. I will have the tooling, but i need to read over the rules to make sure i don't violate any because i will be pissed if i do all that work and i get thrown into modified anyway.

I am interested to find out what class you are wanting to run Class I 1600cc. If you are thinking class I I think you are limited to stock width X 1" over stock. I really need to get a rule book for the off road sanctioning group in the norther states any one know were to find?

I can get you a set of three x three from my fabricator in California. I can call for current price if you let me know what you want, 2x3, 3x3, 3x5 mild steel or Chromoly. I can get them with new CNC hub VW type 1 or micro- stub. I will also need to verify this is for a type 1 torsion.

This fabricator builds arms for Mckensie and Kar tech all Made in the USA.

Here is the copy of the rules, you are correct. For stock class i must have a car torsion, with arms + or - 1 inch.
With a bus torsion you are automatically put into modified class because it is +2 inches. I'm pretty sure regarding rear arms then it would not matter.

So if i decided to go with the stock torsion i WOULD need to go with stock arms then because everything else would be larger than +1 inch??? Correct?
If i decided to run modified class i could run my bus torsion and run ANY ARMS?

I copied this information from Kartek.com my fabricator builds these for KARTEK, I can get pricing on Monday with cost to your door. 25% less than Kartek or Mickense

Rear trailing arms are available as either mild or chromoly steel and are available for a variety of different bearing housings. Some feature shock mounts and caliper brackets depending on the type of hub used or intended application.

Please specify what type of bearing or wheel hub you are using when ordering.

Hey i was checking out their site before, looking at pumps. Okay, i will be running a sedan tranny, with type 1 cv on the inside and a type 2 cv on the outside. Otherwise i have no idea.

Ok I will call the fabricator Monday for pricing. You will want the bearing housing for stock VW IRS. Are you wanting mild steel or Chromoly? So Class 1 arms for VW IRS, I will get you a price for mild steel and Chromoly. I imagine you will want them with out shock mounts so you can locate your once you get them bolted on. If you want to be competative in the stock class, you need to use a type 1 torsion. The bus torsion is way heavier than the type 1. If the rules let you use +1 arms, you need to take advantage and use +1 arms. It doesn't sound like much but it makes a huge difference. There is a set of +1 arms for sale on thesamba. You might want to look at those if you are on a budget.

If you can use a set of +1 longer I have a set of Chromoly arms I took off my old s/s race car,I had them shot penned and magnaflux'd to check for cracks(none) type 1 bearing carriers I will let you have them for 275+shipping if your interested pm your phone number or email I'll send pics,,they are very high quality expensive arms that I dont have a use for any longer

Hunter I finally got with my fabricator and I am the weak link here got busy with things. The Chromolly Class 1 arms will run $550 plus shipping but these are built for desert racing and meet all class 1 specs stock width by one inch longer.
