Not sure how high your head is above the roof but you might have some less expensive options..

Possibly new seats that sit a bit lower...
Remount the seats lower...
Tilt the seats back a few degrees...

I had thought of that too.but the simple fact is iam 6'2" 300lbs And i need more room.its a pain in the ass for me to out of the buggy.I just need more head room and more side room to get in and out of the buggy.
I got the buggy for a really good price so iam willing to put the money in it and make it fit me.

When I had the Duck I raised the roof by adding short lengths of tubing to the front risers and coped them to fit the radius of the top frame rails. I made 4" long sleeves to go inside the tubes. Cut the tubes off at the frame and used a hydraulic jack and a 4x4 to raise the roof up to installed the tube assemblys and lowered the jack until the coped end mated up with the top frame rail . Leave an 1/8" fill gap around the sleeve then weld it it up. I also added a braces in the courners for additional strength. You do not need a bender for this method.

thanks for some of the ideas. Here is some pics of the buggy. This is what i have to work with. need to get more head room. and do some other odds and ends. i got this buggy for a really good deal.its street legal ohio title, titled as a 99 roadster or someshit like that. It needs a motor and i am going to change it to a long travel buggy. I have not decided if i want air cooled or water cooled yet.

Nice looking chassis. I would raise the hoop behind the seats a few inches using a similar method to the one ody suggested, push the windshield frame forward, and make longer roof bars to recconect. The windshield bars will support more weight standing up straighter also.

First thing you need to decide is what are you going to do with it, on road or off road. If your answer is some of both, you build it for off road. Depending on that answer, we might be better able to help you.
If you can't find anyone local I might be able to help you.
