If you were going to buy a buggy, what are some of the things that you would look for? What are some deal breakers? I have been looking for a while and there are some good looking buggies out there and there are some junk as well. Just looking for tips. Thanks

Research, find out what works, what doesnt work, learn what it takes to do what you want to do with your buggy, are you looking for something to cruise the streets with? are you looking for something to do minor trail riding with or are you looking to climb the first wall you find, these will all be deciding factors in what you want to look for.

hes a tenn guy he wants to climb i would say look for atleast a 5 rib trans and a 1915 or bigger motor with turning breaks thats a good start and it also depends on what your looking to spend also be positive the frame is not rusted or has holes drilled in it for rear arms 2x3s are a good setup and at-least buss cvs not car ones

Things to look for on a buggy you are buying:

Trailer Included

Bus Trans

Bus axle conversion

Rear Disc Brakes

Kingpin Front End

Hydraulic pedal system

Poly Seats at least (say no to junkie fiberglass ones)

Dual Port Motor

Things to stay away from:

Swing axle buggies

Car trans

Ball Joint Front End

Single port Motors

Poor Welds on Frame

And find some chipped paint on it and make sure it wasn't pink at one time. Your friends will never let you hear the end of that.

i think baljoint is better and i think fiberglass seat is 10 times better than polly polly kills your back and puts your head near the roof and stock pedals work great i use them forever

LOL sorry, still say doin research for what you wanna do is the way to go, this is a good start, im kinda leanin toward the ball joint side and stock pedals myself but then agian im a bit partial to them since its what i run lol.... keep listening, you will either learn what you want to learn or get confused with opinions lol

It all depends on what and where you will be riding.research what things cost.do a build sheet of what it cost for building a buggy with quality parts.that way if your looking at a buggy that you know you have to fix something or change it to what you need then you get an idea of what you will be adding to the price of it.buy function over pretty.make sure you can fit in it good with plenty head room.if your just starting go check local guys out and ask what their running.best advise is take your time and do some research.it's not a cheap sport and having to buy things twice gets old quick.you will get a lot of opinions but don't be afraid to ask questions somebody will help you.Chad
