Woodsbuggy Pros:
1: Easily Street Legal (and when someone hits you while on their cell phone you won't die like Side by Side)
2: Way Faster. I cruise at 60 mph and a Side by side just wears out at that speed
3: Parts Availability: 50 years of beetle parts virtually unchanged and endless aftemarket parts
They will redesign the brakes (along with everything else) on that side by side next year and in 10 years it will be like my dirtbike and they will want $250 for a tiny little brake caliper that fits in the palm of my hand.
4: Endless ingenuity... How may subaru, ecotec, or chain drive side by sides do you see.
You just spend the money for everyone elses creativity and marvel at your monthly payment.
5: Price... You won't have the baddest buggy in the world, but for $1000 you can still have one. Haven't seen any $1000 side by side and don't think I would want to buy the one that is that cheap. Also, to get the machine you REALLY want your gonna spend $25k either way.
6: Theft: When they are all built the same with the same engineered parts like a side by side. They are easy to make disappear. Buggies are unique. Someone would have to chop my buggy up an awful lot for me to not know its mine.
7: Tires: 33's take a 12 inch rock ledge alot better than quad tires no matter how much suspension you have. Not to mention my 8 ply implement fronts are cheaper than most quad tires.
Woodsbuggy cons:
1:No 4x4 (obviously) but I agree they both climb the same. A side by side is just much more manuverable when you are really in the slick stuff like soaking wet clay
2: Side by side throws less mud on you so pretty girls are more inclined to sit in the passenger seat.
3: I had to plate mine and insure it and blah, blah, blah,to drive on street and I still had a couple different cops pull me over just to try and tell me I couldn't, but every day I see a couple of side by sides going down my road with trailers on them. No plates on any of it, No signals, No nothing. I don't see them getting any tickets.
