That video makes me want an old amc eagle AWD car, lol. Put a turbo on it and run down some razor's hahaha!

Larry, what I have seen of KY trail riddin is very borring. And your idea of hill climbin spooks the bejesus out of me, lol. But havnt seen much in between the 2 times I was there. I have ridden with Bill and Ody 3 times now. And I can tell you a VW front end with brand new parts on a 800lb buggy wont hold up for more then a cpl weekends. Also I will agree with you again on the fact that lighter means less force and stress. Oh, and V treads do just fine in Wellsville, I still like mine, just wish there was a 35" version available. A SS version of bill and steves would be great, but the passengers gotta be real drunk to ride on the hood! Me and racefreaks helmet should know  The main benifits to quads and side x sides is store bought, easy access to replacement parts and reliability (on some parts). Not to mention a warrenty, but KY Cookies come with a warrenty from the factory too. The trick is strength in the right spots and weight savings where you can manage I guess. But not to many 2 seaters with any engine and tranny combo gunna climb with a SS Buggy, no question. If I had the room for another buggy and a 28' tailer might be able to have two buggies, just not sure how to drive laceys with remote control while I drive mine.

Hey Nitro, I don't know much about the topic of this thread but I do want to replay to your first sentence. I do agree sometimes it can be boring when we all stop and drink and talk for an hour cause I like to ride.  When you come back to D&K hook up with Rick Morgan. That boy will take you on a ride you will not forget. You don't ever stop!! You go and go and go, fast at that so be prepared to keep up. I guarantee you will not be bored, only problem is you never remember what you've seen.  All joking aside, he is a good guy to show you around cause he seriously hardly ever stops and he know all the trails.

All this bickering over what machine is better is as pointless as the AC/WC saga! The bottom line is both machines have their place and I found that place........................... My Garage!

Nitro both times you been there were event days wasnt it? I hear ya loud n clear about the trail crawling with 20 buggies and a 4x4 or three thrown in the mix and stoppin for 2hrs at a time. Most of the commonly used trails are pretty well beat to where they arent real challenging and a ot of the hills are make it or break it, but not all of the trails n hills are that way . There are some trails that weill challenge you andsome easy to medium hills. Dont write the place off  , you just haven't had the chance to see what you wanted to find. Its there, believe me. We are planning on busting out some new tight and challenging type trails this winter. Lewis and some others have already been working on them.
But, Kathy aint lying!! Rick (owns the mobile home and garage behind the park office) prolly almost knows the place as good as Gizmo himself. He can take you on some killer trail rides. I followed him one day and just had to stop and wait til he turned back for me to take a beer and piss break

I hae a rhino and a buggy and enjoy rideing both of them. The rhino wont go the places my buggy will but its nice to get in it and just ride. Another advantage a side by side has over a buggy is the value. A side by side holds value very well where my buggy just costs money that I can never get back out of it. All I can say is I like both of them.

Hey Nitro, I'm not a big climber either & don't have the buggy for it.. The last time I was at D&K (4th of July 08) me and another guy got tired of all the sitting around so after several beers we decided to take off and get lost. Mission accomplished, there's a lot more to see if you just go! We hit trails that looked like they hadn't been hit in a year or more. Kenny eventually smoked his trans & we finally got him pulled back to camp. We restocked on refreshments, he jumped in with me & we took off again. We got back into places where we couldn't even hear any other buggies, & it was packed that weekend! I think we might even chased Sasquatch up on one knob (not sure, vision was getting blurry & it was raining).. Sometimes it pays to take the path less traveled.. It was definitely a good time!

Well I moved to Kentucky and my buggy doesnt climb any better than when I lived in Ohio! Its all a scam. But my heavy buggy still holds up just fine, even after a case of beer.

Woodsbuggy Pros:
1: Easily Street Legal (and when someone hits you while on their cell phone you won't die like Side by Side)
2: Way Faster. I cruise at 60 mph and a Side by side just wears out at that speed
3: Parts Availability: 50 years of beetle parts virtually unchanged and endless aftemarket parts
They will redesign the brakes (along with everything else) on that side by side next year and in 10 years it will be like my dirtbike and they will want $250 for a tiny little brake caliper that fits in the palm of my hand.
4: Endless ingenuity... How may subaru, ecotec, or chain drive side by sides do you see.
You just spend the money for everyone elses creativity and marvel at your monthly payment.
5: Price... You won't have the baddest buggy in the world, but for $1000 you can still have one. Haven't seen any $1000 side by side and don't think I would want to buy the one that is that cheap. Also, to get the machine you REALLY want your gonna spend $25k either way.
6: Theft: When they are all built the same with the same engineered parts like a side by side. They are easy to make disappear. Buggies are unique. Someone would have to chop my buggy up an awful lot for me to not know its mine.
7: Tires: 33's take a 12 inch rock ledge alot better than quad tires no matter how much suspension you have. Not to mention my 8 ply implement fronts are cheaper than most quad tires.

Woodsbuggy cons:
1:No 4x4 (obviously) but I agree they both climb the same. A side by side is just much more manuverable when you are really in the slick stuff like soaking wet clay
2: Side by side throws less mud on you so pretty girls are more inclined to sit in the passenger seat. 8)
3: I had to plate mine and insure it and blah, blah, blah,to drive on street and I still had a couple different cops pull me over just to try and tell me I couldn't, but every day I see a couple of side by sides going down my road with trailers on them. No plates on any of it, No signals, No nothing. I don't see them getting any tickets.
