Hey guys... I am putting together a 1915 and have a set of basically stock 042 heads that have been punched out already to 94 that I got with the motor. But I also have a set of after-market 044 heads that are still stock size off my old motor... any suggestions on which ones I should run? I will be running 90% of the time in Wellsville. Seems to me like I should go for the highest compression with the low end torque... I am not sure of the valve size on either set. Should I run with the 042 and have valve work done or would I be better off to have my after-market heads off my old motor punched out? I am new to these things and any input would be appreciated.

Its MUCH cheaper to buy new heads with bigger valves than to have them installed on old heads

personaly, the 042 heads would be the best for the 1915 in my opinion. the valve sizes are 42intake and 35.5 exhaust. i run the same size heads on my 2275 and i love them. the engine has plenty of bottome end. but i think your cam selection will be the biggest factor. what size cam are you gonna run?
