Has anyone ever had a problem with their alternator charging useing a led style lite. Mine quit charging and ive put 4 new alternators on it and the lite still wont cut off and charge. I took the led style lite off and used my test lite and it turned off and started charging. I dont guess a led type lite will work for the alternator lite. :?: :?: :?:

LED's are diodes and will not allow current to flow in the opposite direction. With the LED, it would see the 12 volts, but the reverse flow 2 volts would be stopped by the diode nature of the LED.

KEVIN I JUST PUT AN LED ON MINE AND IT IS CHARGING ,WHEN YOU FIRST START IT YOU HAVE TO REV THE ENGINE QUITE A BIT TO GET IT TO START CHARGING BUT ITS BEEN WORKING. THE LIGHT I USED WAS A 2 INCH MARKER LIGHT FROM TSC,ONLY PROBLEM SO FAR ITS NOT QUITE BRIGHT ENOUGH IN THE BRIGHT SUN,PROBABLY GONNA GO BACK TO REG. BULBS

I put a led on mine and it wouldnt do squat . I wired in a 194 dash bulb in line with led and hid it inside the dash panel so i could keep my led in the dash face and it works fine now
