like title says I'm looking for a 5 rib. Let me know what you have and would prefer to find one "somewhat" local . HAVE CASH or , I have a good 3 rib that's currently in my buggy that works great that I'd do some trading on toward a 5 rib, but I don't see me getting that lucky. pm me or give me a call 270-670-5327 Thanks,

Definitely an improvement over a type 1 beetle transmission but I'd check with www.car-parts.com for an 094 Vanagon from a '84-91 VW. They have a much bigger reverse, get you the strength of a six rib and are pretty new compared to a 3 or 5 rib. Usually they can be found for $300-500. My 2 cents. You'll need a linkage to shift the side linkage but they are around and can be fabricated as well.
