Does anyone have a pair of 15 5/8" axles you don't need and are willing to sale? |

I will be using them with Type 2 CVs. I found out Tuesday just how high geared an auto tranny is. Time to convert to bus. Any pointers are welcomed. Thanks for the compliment on the build. |

you use the same axles for the bus transmission as the car just have to change the joint |

Are you positive? Everything I read says the 002 bus tranny is a little wider than car tranny, which results in using the 15 5/8" bus axles with type 2 cvs and bus to car axle stubs. That is of course using stock size trailing arms. I never have done this so I'm trying to gather info. I just want to be sure. Thanks for your input. It makes me think more. PS. I previously said using auto tranny. I meant car tranny. |

You are correct, SAW offers these axles typically for street guys with stock trailing arms and a bus trans swap when the suspension travel is not more than stock. The problem with these offroad is that the CV angle increases more when the supension travel is increased and the CVs aren't happy. Have you considered Sawerybuilts with stock bus axles? It's a pretty good value for the money spent. JMHO |

What stubs you using?? I ran a bus with type 1 stubs and car axle 16.25 at 16/18 deg. For 2 years. Never had a problem on or offroad. I changed my stubs to type 2 over the winter and running around 20deg. Still no problem but I do get some clicking some times when I back up so I to will be looking for the shorter ones. But it will work I have been to DTOR 2 times this year and around 1000miles on the street. |

I am running a car tranny right now. I forget what the degree is on the axles but it is maxed out but not over that is recommed for a car cv. I just notched the spring plates a little. I just ordered a 002 tranny. So i have bought nothing yet. I think I'm going to get laid off work. So need to go cheap. Running a 1641. Its just a woods buggy. No radical hill climbing foreseen. I have not seen or heard of Sawerybuilts. I googled it with no findings. |

You put some big v cleats on there I guarantee you break cv's and axles with ecotec power. Been there done that. |
