i heard somewhere 11/2" DOM is the best material to use? but just found out most co`s. use ERW or something . is this correct? what is it ,and is it better? any feed back would be appreciated. yhanks Jim |

maybe its CRW would that be Cold Rolled wall ? what is 13 gage? |

For the difference in cost between the ERW and DOM I would go with DOM. It has twice the strength. |

thank you , now i got it .so why do most co.s use ERW .cost savings ? can it really be that significant? does any one know if a chassis builder uses DOM. thanks Jim |

From what I understand dom tubing is a second step to erw. So basicly they take erw and draw it through a mandrel to make dom for tighter tolerances. just about all companies use electro weld. Berrien, beeline..etc. If its a factory frame and not built for race its most likely electro weld. |
