the reason for posting here is help deciding what rear suspension to use. I want to use VW parts mainly cv joints axles and stuff. I was thinking either a VW style trailing arm suspension or an a-arm type. any thoughts?

IMO stick with VW unless you want to get intoA arm susp geometry.

Here yea go..... http://www.jeffcoperformance.com/Revers ... rmance.php
Not cheap for sure. If you don't need a open differential they is the RPM box, about 1/2 the price. If your not looking for reverse there is even cheaper options

They do sell couplers to hook bike engines to VW trans axles. You have to turn engine sideways though.

If you do not want reverse then using a VW diff with the open holes welded up is another option.

when i built my motorcycle powered rail I did alot of investigating on trans and gearboxes. The best one out there has to be the Jeffco if you want a diff but it is costly. The RPM is a real good one if you don't want a diff and it is half the price as a Jeffco. The transworks trans does not hold up very well from what everybody told me. You have to turn the bike motor side ways to make this one work. There is a site called minibuggy.net go there and look around.
