We have decided to try and build some extended front trailing arms out of stock arms. We built a jig for it last night out of my +2/+1 arms off the baja. Not sure how well it will work, but its not costing us anything but time right now so we figured why not give it a shot. I will post pics of the process in case anyone is interested. |

It's a pretty straightforward process. Make sure you have the welder turned up pretty high. They need to be strong. Pictures are always great! |

Mad Mike made these at his shop. He has put A LOT of time into the geometry of these. I would say HE is the man to talk to when it comes to fabricating trailing arms.

just out of curiousity,,,, how much would madmike want to build a set of these arms and a set of drop spindles?? that is, if he was interested in making and selling them. |

Send me an E-Mail and I will tell you what the options are. Also worth noting, DVS1's new buggy, the one in the pic above, is a ball joint chassis. madmike15001@yahoo.com |

Hmmm, ball joint beam / combo spindles. Seems to me you could make some money with that setup. That would sure save guys building bajas a hell of alot of work switching to king/link beams. Have you had a chance to really test them? |

Nothing to really test, just a few differences between them. They are a huge pain in the $ss to make. They are expencive and you need to buy a bunch of stuff to make it work, link pins, steering rack, shocks, then alter your shock towers, just to mention a few things. Besides that, riding season is upon us, and I intend on doing a bunch of riding this year. Can't build stuff and ride at the same time. |
