I purchased a custom torsion housing and 3x3 trailing arms and want to know about the 4 irs pivot bolt washers. I was told they needed to both go to one side but can't remember if it is toward the transaxle or the tire?

I was told the location can be used to adjust the tow in tow out.

Acording to the photo in the BENTLY MANUAL, it shows both washers on the outside. EARL DUTY in his book " How to build a dune buggy " says one on each side. I too have been told the position is in relationship to rear wheel alignment. My buggy has one on each side and I have never had an issue. IMO, for an off road buggy you could probably not tell a difference either way. Just make sure you drill the boss the bolt goes into and once torqued to spec., put a cotter pin in there to keep the bolt from backing out. You DON'T want to have that bolt disappear. Good luck.  p.s. Carry a spare bolt regardless. Someone sooner or later is bound to loose one, and you can be a HERO :?:

well I just thought I would let everyone know hwat I had to do incase they ran into the same problem. I have the long travel rear torsion kit so there are no springs so I don't know if this has anything to do with this or not. I called the people I purchased the arms from and they said both had to go to the outside well I did that and the arm with the heim joint hit the torsion housing piece that comes off with the big allen bolt. So I later called the people back and asked them again and they said oh there is suppose to be one on the inside and one on the outside so went back to that and everything is fine.

X2 you can change the tow in by moving them around. :)
