I am fixing to order a set of coilover shocks and need to know how much travel they need to have for my buggy. I am using the appletree auto trailing 3x3 kit with 930 cv's and want approx 12-14 inches of travel.

You will need minimum of 12" but I wouldn't order anything until you get all the parts in your hands. The location of the lower shock mount will tell you everything along with the cv angle. Also the longer the stroke is or the closer the shock stroke is to the total wheel travel the lighter the spring rate will be. The lighter the spring rate, the better the ride.

I ordered the trailing arms that already had the shock mount welded on so I was thinking I would need 10 inch travel but wasn't really sure.

im not sure on the shocks but i can tell you that unless you talked to them about it, or your just going by what the picture shows, that there is NO shock mount welded to the trailing arm!trust me! and when you get them you will notice that one side is bigger where the trailing arm connects to the spring plate, the bigger side goes on top! you can either mount your shockto there or on the the top round bar with some tabs welded to it

There is a shockmount welded on mine they charge a extra 20 dollars for it.

Like Mike said, wait till you get your arms mounted so you can do a good measurement. I would say a 12" stroke is what your going to need though.

X2 on what mike said.wait,figure out location,measure,then measure again,think about it drink a good cold beer think about it some more,measure again,then order shocks,lol.Chad :mrgreen:
