Post subject:  Alxe stub swap help

I run a 6rib with and stock arms and I'm swapping the stubs out for type 4 stubs and type 2 cv. I put it all in the driver side at full drop turns fine and free and the axle moves free. The pass side is very hard to turn and the axle will not side at all but if I jack the arm up about 1" it just as free as the other side the angle is the same on both at full drop and never had a problem before just trying to upgrade. Could this be a bad joint or something else all was used parts. And I think I clocked them right wide on top out on one side and small side top out on the other??? need some help not sure if I'm over looking something or not doing something right.

I think you have a wo out bearing and the rotor is sliding on the brake pad until the weight is lifted off .

do this for both sides, take the axles out and jack the trailing arm up till tranny drive flange and the stub axle flange are parallel and measure the distance from flange to flange, im thinking the tranny is offset to one side

I never would have thought of that.. I would have ended up replacing all the CV joints before I thought to check the brake. Great idea..
