was wondering are they worth the $ switchn from bus cvs?..ive always heard u need weak link somewhere rather change cv than tear up ur tranny..not sure if that true or not..so properly setup do they last alot longer than bus or does it just give u the extra ground clearence? |

Mine have been in since 98. Keep beefing up the weak link and you will end up with a very stout weak link. Plus I dont care to do repairs in the woods. |

What kind of horse power you got? Tire size? axle angle? If you have a low hp and a low angle on your cv's the type 2's car hold up to to alot. I switch to 930's b/c I have alot of angle on my cv's and kept popin type 2's with v cleats. If I ran thin trail riding tires I never broke any cv's. Also Ive got alot of power with the water cooled setup compair to the vw dp |

Looks like he is building a 2 seat 2.5l Suby for haspin. Use the 930's I get about 2 years on a stock VW 6rib with mine. Just watch the hole shots, you will have enough power you wont need to do them. |

Ive been running the same joints in my 2 seater for about 4 years and they are type 2s. My single seater has types 2s with a 6 rib and a 2500 and they hold. Matter of fact I just split a diff houseing completly in half with type 2 joints. I would only run the 930 if you plan on a lot of angle. I found another cv that i think is gunna work as well as a 930 but has the same spline and bolt pattern as the type 2s. I just havent tried them yet. |

If you are going to need new parts either way look at the prices, from what I hear they have dropped alot. |

i put a set of 930s with chromoly axles, stubs and cups....had a problem with axle diameter splines and cv splines being too loose....after arguing with appletree and sending parts back and forth for a year,i think im good to go now.....appletree did make it right but gave me a serious run around and when they said they were sending parts back i waited up to a month!not to mention calling 4 days in a row to get ahold of chad????no call back no reply to emails etc. its all empi...chromoly and race prepped...havent been able to break it yet...17 degree angle....blah blah blah |

I try to keep the clips on but have had a couple clips come off, ( my grooves are homemade after shortening the axles a half inch),,the axle splines would drop half way out of the race and strip the splines in the race,,,,I need to fix my clip problem and upgrade to a stronger race. |
