What do people recommend for floors?

My buggy has been running 10 gage ali up until now, but its pretty battered so I was thinking of replacing it with something else.. like Nylon or HDPE.. just wondering what other people use?

(I know Perib use a Rabbit roofskin)

I personally think a Street Sign is the best choice.

5mm in 6082T6 across the whole floor and then patches of 5mm RG1000 (cheaper reprocessed version of UHMWPE) under the gearbox, engine and between the seats which gets the most abuse on ours - slides better than ally.

If you get away with 2.5mm plain ally then I'd be tempted to use 2mm ally sheet just for piercing protection and then some 4-5mm RG1000 underneath it in the worst area's.

Depends what you hit, you know we're not adverse to using the skidpan as part of the suspension

nah, we still employ peasants to stand at road junctions and guide us..

Ok, yeah we do, and in fact I've used them before for skid plates on trials bikes etc.. most street signs here are made from Dural which makes them ideal for lots of home uses

Unfortuantly the only signs big enough to make a buggy skidpan from are on our motorways (interstates to you guys). ALso over here tampering with road signs is a very serious offence ahem...

My race buggy floor is .063 (16ga) aluminum to save weight, (too thin for woods use IMO) and my woods buggy has a .100 (12ga) aluminum floor.
