I'm trying to track down my problem. I seems like my pump tries to lock up and even kills my engine. When I un-hook everything the pump moves and flows fine. There is a little play in and out on the pulley (maybe ~3/32"). I can watch the motor run and the pulley tries to stop spinning after 30 seconds or so. Could the bearings in the pump be going? If the pump didn't move freely by hand I would understand. Any Idea. Also any Idea what pump this is. I have searched and can't find anything that looks similar. The only markings are 1250 psi max 2 3/4 C 17 F ![]() ![]() ![]()

Well I figured what the problem was. A 19th month old in the drivers seat turning the wheel to the stop. No lie. After the kids went to bed I went to messing with it and noticed the motor bog down when it came to the stops. Not being a 19th month old I stopped trying to turn. I usually have at least 1 kid in the garage at a time. It sure does make it entertaining! |

Should have a relief valve for full lock on most PS systems, usually has a linkage to raise the engine rpms slightly too to cope with the extra pressure. |

mudd mutt wrote: Adam where did you get the pump? Kinda looks like a Howe or Sweet look in a circle track parts website,, I have. But on mine the inlet is on the top and outlet is on the bottom. All the sweet and howe are oppisite to mine. I got it off ebay with the mount. Save some good money, but don't know what I have. Its worked flawlessly for a year, but it would me nice to know where to get one if need be. |
