Post subject:  will suspension seats fit in a cobra
like the title says, will a suspension seat fit in a cobra?

i know that im gonna have the cutting brakes in the center and of course the shifter, and if it will fit the front brakes, but they may have to be mounted on the left side :?

oh and by the way im almost 6ft and 290lbs, so i gotta have the "fatboy" seats, if its a tight fit with the "regular" seats i will probably have to go with the kirkey seats :lol:

Have you ever sat in a Kirky seat for a long time? F that, do what ever you need to do to make a suspension seat fit. You will hate yourself not doing it.

Exactly what mike said.I will never ride another buggy with out them.you will not have room for anything between your seats,and it will be a tight fit just to get the wide bottoms in.I had to take the covers loose and modified the seat frames to fit mine.not much but I didn't want to bend my side bars.if you get them take beeswax and coat the threads really really good while they are clean and new.I did mine and water will stand in them.besides my a$$ is so big nothing gets in it while I'm driving anyways.lol.Chad :mrgreen:

Kirky seats are fine for the few seconds your going down a drag strip and thats it! You might as well sit in the floor and strap in. I ended up using Racetrim suspension seats in my Stalker frame. every thing else was to big. They are the narrowest you can buy.

We tend to use Motodrive or the narrow-fitment Corbeau Revolutions, brilliant seats, 2 days of 9am-6pm rally/road miles and you don't even have a sore spot.

Only problem is that, by his own admission, he is a little wide in the glide so he needs a "big boy" seat. IDK, still would check to see if I could fit them up. Is your chassis already made? if not have them make it 5 or 6 in wider.

I have them in mine.extra wide race trim.I'll measure how wide they are for you.and I was worried about head room,but was amazed how much lower I set than I thought I would.Chad :mrgreen:

"wide in the glide" thats a good one :lol: i will have to remember that one :wink:

and yes i took delivery of the frame this past saturday and didnt even think about asking about width or roof heigth for the seats till a couple of days beforhand and i knew that too late in the game so i didnnt bother :oops:

is your frame a cobra and did you have any "extra" roof height added?

Not with out modifiying. i got the biggest racetrims in mine and there is no room between them and i cut and widened the bar where your arm rest is. look at 2nd pic. but they are comfy!!!!!! :mrgreen: and look where my steering brakes are. by the way i hate dual handle!!!! :evil:

I don't know how wide a cobra is but this is one narrow, and one extra wide (19st co-driver...) Corbeau in a chassis that's actually slightly narrower than our 2wd buggy:

As you can see the sides of the seat are quite narrow as most of the cushioning effect is given by the shell itself flexing at specific points, so they don't need much in the way of padding.
