any pros or cons one way or the other ? it seems like a no brainer to me ( a lot less pulling out and turning of the torsion bars ) unless there is a problem with breakage or damage of some sort or maybe if they are difficult to install correctly or as an alternative i could use some of those adjustable spring plates but all i have seen are single plates and i was wanting to use my double spring plates |

where is the 30lbs coming in at? surely the torsion bars dont weigh that much more than the bags and mounts and the housing looks like the factory bug housing in mine from what i can tell in the pic besides all of that i'm that great of a fabricator i could go with a fox or race runner air or coilover shock, this would probably be the lightest setup but a lot more expensive and probably more prone to damage or failure, on a dedicated woodsbuggy at least |

Weigh 2 torsion bars, 2 spring plates, 2 end plates plus the weight of an adjuster that takes some doing to install. Not reccomended for thoes who are challenged at fabrication. Then take all that and compare it to the weight of 2 air bags and 2 torsion elimitators, one torsion bar weighs as much as 2 air bags with some to spare. I'll admit 30 lb might be "inflated" a little, but there is no better, cheaper setup than bags. Air bags will not loose their spring temper over time, can't strip off the ends of the bar and don't break in half. 2 new torsion bars costs how much? 2 new air bags costs what, $90, plus you can get 2 for free and sell them and make your money back. SAW don't give nothing away. As far as Fox air shocks, all good except first is the expence of the shocks and you still need 2 torsion elimiators. Next is the weight of the back of your buggy. if it's over 500, or close to 500lb on each corner, Fox 2.0 Air shocks won't work right. You need Fox 2.5 to handle the weight. Read more expensive shock. Coil overs are not exactly light weight and for sure not cheap, over $400 for the shocks and another $300 something for the springs. I could build another 10 cars, all of them will have air bags. |

I'm not a fan of torsion bars, but my woods buggy has them and an adjuster, and thats the only way I would have it. I think the one I have is a cheapy (latest rage or somthing) and so far its holding up, but it looks like the flat part that the adjusting bolts thread into is bending. Time will tell! just gimmie an excuse to get rid of the torsion housing |

Not even dented ours, but then it was made from chromoly plate Ditching the torsion bars and bushes this winter though, just stick a heavier spring on the dampers instead. |

if your going to use a torsion adjuster i recomend passing on the latest rage/china crap and spend the money on the saw adjuster. http://www.swayaway.com/Components_Adjusters.php if you ride hard you can expect this to happen. i have a used saw adjuster if anyone is interested ![]() ![]() heres a china finger compared to a saw finger ![]() ![]()

thanks plumberbill that is what i wandering if it would happen or not, so if that happens with the torsion adjuster im pretty sure those spring plate adjusters wont last no time |

My black car had Rancho RS 9000, 2 each side. Jim's car shown in the photos has Fox 2.0 one each side. My new build will be the same, Fox 2.0. www.airbagit.com is the place for the bags. Be sure to ask for the buy 2 get 2 free deal. |
