CHAR LYNN TORQUE GENERATOR
has anyone used this and did they like it
this is for an on and off road buggy
i was going to use stock subaru power steering pump

Some like them some don't. I have heard they are very twitchy on hardtop roads. Also they put all the torque thru you steering rack and the "U" joints on the steering shaft unless you direct connect to the rack. I use a ram and servo style and like that concept much better.

I love my charlyne set up! I'm also using a subaru powersteering pump

I did a combination of things to my Subaru pump. and not sure exactly what worked because at the end I removed a burr that could have been causing misreads.

I took the pressure side hose off and removed a bigger nut that holds in a spring and BB. It is in a valve and hard to pull out but a needle nose plyer worked. It comes apart but I put a burr on it trying to get it apart. I drilled out the port behind the BB a little bigger,,,replaced the spring with a weaker one ( actually remove a coil also ) and found a smaller BB. All this or part of this led to a much better pressure. Before it was like I had no pump at all.

I also had to do a little port and polish work to my suby pump :mrgreen:

mines not bad on the road! my rack is a 1.5:1
