Do you have a single or dual port intake manifolds?

If the intake manifold is a single tube going to the heads, then the engine is either a 1200 or a 1500.

there were 1300 factory single ports, too. Most common found is the 1500 though.

Look at the front of the engine, right below the alternator-generator stand. Might need to clean it up or take something off but there is a serial number there (the stand has the engine-s firing order on it) that starts with a letter, i.e. B6337458. This doesn't apply for crate engines for aftermarket blocks from JC Whitney.

Anyway write down that number and look here: http://type2.com/bartnik/enginecodes.htm

This will tell you the year and displacement of your engine. Hope this helps.
