what 3/4 reach 14mm plugs are everybody using? also are the NGK DP8EA-9 the best 3/4 reach 12mm plugs, i usually try to get bosch platinum plugs but cant seem to find any that cross with the DP8EA-9's? |

On long reach 14mm we use 7904 Bosch copper plugs or 4035 Bosch for platinums. |

What is the best plug to use. I use Champion plug right now and I heard that they wernt very good. |

Champion plugs is the best by far, I run them the entire time I owned a buggy, never missed a beat. |

I personally would not run a Champion plug in a lawn mower. I have had the center electrode fall out of Champion plugs.I like Bosch in a AC.I run Autolites in my everyday cars and trucks JM2cents Baddvw wrote: Champion plugs is the best by far, I run them the entire time I owned a buggy, never missed a beat.

I had better luck on champions than any other plugs I ever ran in my buggies and they never let me down, I am still running the same plugs in my 2500 for 2 years now and they were even being used on the exact same heads for 2 years, so they are 4 years old now....I just don't see why I should pay more for ngk or Bosch plugs when they are $2.00 a piece and my experience with them proves they are good enough for me. |

This can help keep head temps. down a litte . i thought timing causes pre ignition,,,dont that rotor button tell what plug to fire when it fires,,,,,i run the hottest plug i can buy and a 55 thous plug gap because thats what my ignition system calls for,,,plus racing fuel burns cooler than regular pump gas |

C&P from Denso: "all spark plugs must be able to resist fouling. The trick here is to design the plug so that the electrodes run hot enough to burn off any deposits but not so hot that they cause preignition or detonation. To burn off carbon deposits, the electrodes need to reach about 700 degrees F quickly. But if the electrodes get too hot (above 1,500 degres F), they can ignite the fuel before the spark occurs, causing preignition and detonation. For most plugs, the ideal operating temperature is around 1200 degrees F." "The temperature of the electrodes is controlled by the length of the ceramic insulator that surrounds the center electrode and the design of the electrode itself. Ceramics do not conduct heat very well, so an insulator with a relatively long nose will conduct heat away from the electrode more slowly than one with a relatively short nose. The longer the path between the electrode and the surrounding plug shell, the slower the rate of cooling and the hotter the plug." As you go up in compression ratio, more heat is produced, requiring a colder plug. |

And yet again,this is another fine example of learning from fellow buggy riders.I can't seem to retain information like I use to but I can always save a post and go back for info I need.maddog you seem like a good guy and always offer good advise.hope one day I have my stash of toys like you do.you for sure have got it going on,lol.chad
