What size cans are you guys running? I bought 6 quart but i think they are too small. the top filter base fits snug in the bottom, but i think the sides will be too close to the filter. suggestions? |

I’m not sure what size mine are but running the short 4in. air cleaners with foams. My top lip defiantly does not fit snug! |

My top filter base is so snug it stays in the can when I lift it all off. Might wanna try to find cans that aint concave on the bottom. They will puddle water on them, like mine do. |

I can make you a pair like the ones that are on my buggy if you want and i can bring them to wheeler's if your coming?I make them out of aluminum on my brake and rivet them together for a clean look.Just let me know what the exact width, length and heigth is and i'll make you a set up,no charge. |

thanks guys... Larry, you don't have trouble with them breathing since they are so close to the filter at the top? do you have the foam pre filters on? mine are concave, but my studs are long enough i think i can put a nut on to hold the base on then the cans, then a wing nut so i don't have to worry about the water leaking in. bucky, i really appreciate the offer, i'm not 100% sure if i'm coming yet or not, i want to. i will let you know when i find out. i run webers with 6 inch filters and aluminum bases for the record... |

Jeff, I used to run foam prefilters with no cans on weber 44s. When I switched to cans and no prefilters, I couldnt tell a difference at the start of a ride, when everything was clean. But after riding a day, especially if it was muddy, the prefilter setup would get dirty and I'd get clogged idle jets way more than when I switched to cans with no pre-filters. I dont know if one actually flows better than the other, but the reduced aggravation was worth any flow difference that I could not even feel. The cans I got kinda flare outward as they get towards bottom of the carbs so they arent real close to the filters all the way down the height of the filters. |

Im not saying Dellortos are better than Webers but ive been much better off with Dells when it comes to idle jets, knock on wood.If you run the good fuel filters, not the clear ones with the paper elements and grease the top and bottom of you air cleaners and use K&N filter oil,you should highly increase you luck on having clogged jets. |

I agree with ya about the Dells not clogging near as bad. I have only had to take out an idle to clean it once in the woods since I switched to them. Every now and then it'll sound like one is clogging, then clear up on its own. I guess it may be because usually a Dell will take about 5 numbers bigger idle jet than a weber on the same engine and crap gets thru it easier. idk? |

If your using CB's base's ill go ahead and make you a set and you can decide if you want to use them or not when you get there. |

Take one of your air filters to walmart, target, marcs or where ever and just keep trying cans. I'm running a single carb, but I found a pot at target that fit nicely. I just cut the handle and lip off, painted it, and it works well. |
