Post subject:  WHAT SIZE RATIO? TO PICK FOR MY ROCKERS

HI can anyone help me on selecting a set of rockers? what ratio should i use?? i have a 1600 dual port with engle 110 cam. straight cut gears and a single weber 40, and i have 88 mm slip on jugs and pistons, i have stock size heads. i dont know what size they are i am trying to find out? the casting number on the heads are 93 and 100 the numbers below those are the same on each head they read 113.101.375A can anyone tell me anything on these heads?? like the size of the valves? they are new heads, i got a deal i could not refuse! going with bigger heads later though. i did buy a set of chromoly rocker shafts from bugpack to install my rockers on when i figure out what ratio to go with, thanks

I would use stock VW rockers in that engine combination. Your camshaft is designed to use stock ratio 1.1 rocker arms and will work the best with those. Your heads are stock VW. If you want to upgrade your heads later, you can upgrade the rockers to VW 1.25 later if you wanted to but you would see very minimal performance gains from doing this.
What I would recommend you do is install a set of single high rev valve springs on your heads and get rid of the stock VW valve springs. This will give you a boost in performance, especially with that 110 camshaft.
