i was wanting to know if these books are good or a wast of money

How to Hotrod Volkswagen Engines
Turbo Mania Tech Book (may look into turbo down the road just not much info on the web about it)

looking to start building my motor build a 1641 before but now its time to go bigger

also if a run a 78mm crank can i run stock rods

they have some info in them dont get me wrong but heck when i picked them up i knew nothing...i always think a book has a use and a purpose

what i would do is go to your library and check them out, or look them up online...there are some online version too...if that does not work then look at the book stores to see if they have them instock

but if you do buy any book look on amazon.com or half.com and get a used bc since the quaqlity is still great but the cost is not...

"How to Hot Rod VW's" does have a lot of good info, however it is some what old school. Does n't mention anything larger than a 92 mm piston build, (I think). Printed in the early 70's. Many parts were still experimental, many no longer exist as they have been replaced by newer, better parts. I would recomend it but would also recomend a "Bently Manual". Also check with engine builders and your parts suppliers for torque specs. Custom parts don't neccesarily use the same specs. Dave W.
