i dont have the engine code but it does have dual stock carbs.i saw a exaust set up in jc whitney for around 60 or 70 bucks it has a cherry bomb type muffler on it.this may sound dumb but this is a type 4 motor isnt it :?

Yes they are called a type 4 engine also. If the engine has the 3 stud intake manifolds then it could be a Porsche engine :D http://www.tunacan.net/t4/index.shtml This link can help a lot. Thanks and do you have any pics?? Thanks Dave T

84 crank with 105pistons http://www.europeanmotorworks.com/vw/ty ... Parts.html this will net a 2909  If the engine has the heater boxes on still, cut the flanges off and weld up your own exhaust. Thanks Dave T
