I've got a morse cable. It works pretty well. |

I had a Morse cable when I built my car 6 years ago. I hate them for use as a throttle cable. I switched back to a conventional cable a couple years ago and love it. I discourage you from using one. |

Did you guys lube yours any? I give mine a squirt of lube every now and then when I feel it getting gritty. |

I just don't like them. Your results may be different. They are great for steering cables or control cables for boats. I really like what I have now. Just a plain old heavy duty cable about 1/8" thick. It will never wear out, ever. |

yea we use garage door cable, the thinner one, and 3/8's brake line to make throttle cables. Just section the 3/8 line so that you can clean it out. |

Mine is sealed properly, lubed regulary and is routed correctly, still hangs up from time to time. |

WAY to much spring pressure is required to make them work properly. They are not the right part for this application. |

I used a piece of 1/4" PEX water pipe......... bought it at Lowe's. It's slippery and the cable slides through it very well. I was going to use some 3/8" brake line but settled on this instead. Works very well. |

We use a small cable from lowes that is sold by the foot over where they keep the chain and feed it through ice maker line. Works pretty good and there is enough room to squirt WD40 in it occasionally. Sounds kinda redneck I know, but I am in Kentucky, not sure if it works in all states. Huey |

Huey same here but ran in brake line back to trans and used some air hose for air brakes to get to the shroud. |

In my old buggy I welded a tab in front of the gas pedal. You could do this and put a bolt in the tab to make it adjustable. My new buggy has a adjustable stop built into the separate gas pedal. |

i use a brake line cable housing and it is totally useless in the winter. the cable freezes solid in the tube. it works great above freezing. originally i used nuts with the threads ground out welded to the frame. worked great, never froze, but if something hits the cable accidentally, it will goose the throttle (worse yet, hold it wide open). i'm still trying to come up with a happy medium. |

You can have your local Motorcycle shop make you up a throttle cable. Tell him how long and what you want on the ends. He can use material made for clutchs that is heavyer than standard MC throttle cables. |

I use about 3' of standard GM throttle cable housing followed by 1/4" brake line with a gap of about 8" (for hand control) then finished up with another piece of 1/4" brake line to the roller pedal. Its been back yard tested. Not trail ready yet. The cable is the thinner wire cable from Home cheapo. |

heres my cable setup. you can see it running along the bottom frame rail. It is 3/8's brake line with garage door cable (the smaller size) ran all the way back. If you splice the tube like that its easy to clean out.
