Are you saying the pump actuator rod is broke off in the motor? Please clarify. Do you have a pic? Are the case halfs apart. Is your distributer drive gear installed or out and damaged. Not enough info yet to analize. |

Not the rod. But the hard plastic that guides it, the case isnt split, and the dist. gear is fine |

It usually takes splitting the cases to remove this broken piece. You may want to try to use a thread tap and screw it in to the hole in the center. Then you will need to rig up some type of slide hammer or use vice grips and a hammer to tap the thing out. That's about your only options without taking it apart. |

Is it plastic or the original bakelite type material? The latter is usually brown. This may sound silly but I've drilled the bakelite versions out without any ill effects. 1/2" drill bit. Pull the oil pump, stick a vacuum hose in the pump opening and drill away. Every one I've done will usually break loose and spin out before the drill is all the way through the material. Vacuum usually takes care of any debris. |

I wouldn't take any chances, for what it takes to pull it apart, i would take it apart and get all the pieces out. |

Pull the oil pump. See if it's laying there. |

There should be some side movement but no in and out. Guess you took more than the oil pump out to discover that.......... |
