The other day I took the valve covers off my 2.0L and noticed numbers cast into the heads. One had 60 and the other had 61.Never noticed that before-- the question is--what are the numbers for and do they have meaning ????Thanx |

More than likely they are castings numbers. Any factory that casts anything likes to know which casting a casting comes from...for quality control reasons. It is a label cast right into the part! |

Are you sure, I think it means that one side had one more hole drilled in its valves. |

I always think about the Porsche drilled valves when I read it in one of these threads. It is where they are filled with sodium. |

Casting numbers make sense-it crossed my mind, but,I've been wrong before.Don't have drilled valves-maybe thats why it don't have no get up and go.Has low blood pressure tho--no sodium....... |
