The Crower dual lobe (split duration) camshafts work very well in VW engines. Especially if you are using heads that are cast on 040 through 044 castings. I usually pump them up by running 1.25 rockers with them.

If you use 1.4 rockers with those cams your lift will be extremely high. You may have valve to piston clearance problems. Something you will want to check. Check closely! Also check for coil bind and retainer to guide interference!

I recently built a 1915 motor for a friend (beeline dave) and he has worked over 044 heads and dual 40 webers.. We used a 61004 with 1.25's. The thing really runs excellent. I also used the same cam in the last 2276 I built with a single 45 Dell it really runs well.
