What type of clutch with what torque / horspower is everybody running? I just ordered a Stage 3 pressure plate with a standard clutch disk to go with the dodge turbo engine Im installing. 174hp 200ft lbs of torque. |

I run a Subaru 2.2 at about 140 hp. I started with stock pressure plate and clutch disc. Kept burning disc. Went to Kennedy stage 2 pp and stock disc.. burnt disc. Went to Stage 2 pp and kushlok and am happy as can be. 
and stock pedal set,,,,,what's up with hydraulic,,,,,,hyrdraulic is for cooling |

yup, same here kennedy stage 2 pp and cushlock clutch, 200+ hp, 200 lbs. torque |

The guy at kennedy suggested I go with the stage 3 is this to much? Will I still be able to push the clutch in with one leg? The cush lock disk is coming with it.

I am running a Kennedy 4-puck clutch, a Kennedy stage 1 pressure plate, and a CNC hydraulic slave cylinder ran by a 3/4" bore CNC series 254C. Never slipped or burnt one up yet. |

I have a Kennedy Stage 2 228mm PP with a stock bus 228mm disc on a 2666 type IV. Never slipped when I didn't want it to. I even slipped the clutch climbing rocks so bad one time that it discintegrated the disc but still wouldn't slip (although it would not disengage). I use a stock Vanagon hydraulic slave cylinder and the pedal is easier to push than any car or truck clutch pedal. |

I run a stage 4 clutch , with a 1641 with the valves drilled, with a stock cable pedal set up. (the only way to go) |

Like I said, hydraulics are made for cooling. Air is good too,,,to run through radiators.

Be sure to upgrade the throw out arm Huey. Some of the stock ones are pretty pathetic. I assume you are using a VW tranny..........

Once you get it adjusted right, you can just barely push it in and it will disengage, to help allow you to power shift q |

I run a stage 1 kennedy with a cushlock, 36 inch buckshots with a stock 091 tranny. Same clutch for past four years. To me its worked out well. |

So, I still don't see anyone running a stage 3 pp. I am running a 3-rib trans with the top mounting ears on the bellhousing. It has the collar for the throw out bearing to ride on. Do I still need to upgrade the arm (turboblue)? bruce 1 did you upgrade your arm with the stage 4? Do I need to send the stage 3pp back and get the stage 2pp? I know the 3-rib is a little weak but its what I have. Thanks guys for all the input... |

Yes any time you run a pressure plate any larger than stock you should upgrade your throw out bearing arm. What size tires are you planning on running. That is where you really have to have the clutch strength. The bigger the tire the more rotating weight you have to turn. |

Ok, where and what part number do I need for the throw out bearing arm.? What about moore parts? My tires are just 28 X 12.50 X 15 tractor lug tires. Smaller tires are easier on the trans. |

Go to Dans performance parts.com goto on line shopping. Scroll down to clutches. Scroll down and you will see the HD arms. You will need to replace the bushings and all. |

Ok, I think my transmission is the type 2 (3-rib with upper mounting holes). Which part number 01-98-1412-0 or 01-98-1410-0? I don't see the bushing kit for either one of these. |
