My buggy now has an electric pump on a 2275, but my last motor had the same carbs (40 dellorto's) with a mechanical pump and they ran great on a 2165... i like the mechanical pump personally because it doesnt give problems, but some blocks are fuel injected and you have to run electric pump.. when my electric pump takes a dump on me i will install a mechanical set up

I agree, I am a big fan of keeping things simple. I have never seen a Mechanical Pump fail. However, I have seen lots of electric fuel bumps leave people stranded on the trail. If the Mechanical Pump can push enough fuel to supply the carb then I would go with the Mechanical pump.

It's a matter of choice as to what you want to run. I personally like things simple. My buggy has a mechanical pump on it. I am running a 1915 with dual 44 Webers. The mechanical pump is great.
