How difficult is changing out the crank seal? My 1915 is leaking very badly to the point the pad I had under to catch the oil overflowed.

Thanks need to get this fixed soon.

if its the rear seal then you have to pull the motor and take the fly wheel off. its not hard and when you have the fly wheel off change the O ring that seals the fly wheel to the crankshaft .

If your crank seal is leaking badly I'd check your end play before doing anything

just a reminder. a pulley will blow out oil if your breather box is stopped up or some other ventilation problem like kinky hose. bad ventilation and way too too much oil can blow the flywheel seal out.

the penguin got some ice cream while waiting on the mechanic to diagnose his transmission. With his short flappy arms , he spilled it all over himself. The mechanic looked up and said , sir ,it looks like you've blown a seal.

Are you leaking from the pulley? Mine was always leaking like crazy until I replaced the pulley with a Sand Seal Pulley. That fixed the problem.
