For the sake of me not going crazy... Please check this measurement for me... what does it read... I have trashed a set of pushrods... ran threw the measurements twice and this is what I get... Only thing I can think of is that the pushrods could have been to fat (if that can happen) my tool reads as follows:

Image

I just want to know what you folks read this as... I plan to have a set custom cut... don't want to take any more chances to miss out on this... last set cost me 60 bucks.. this next set will cost me 100.00

give me some ideas so I can expect them to show up and work.

I am going to re check with my push rod tool 2 more times for consistency and go with it... so far that pic shows the reading... What would you tell someone if you saw that so you could expect to get the right stuff back.

Also concept is to have 1.5 turns from the base of the adjuster (that measurement gets me there on all 8 adjusters - checked as if I were adjusting valves)

valve adjust:
1. turn crank to top dead center, check to ensure the piston it all the way up, and the distributer is pointing at #1 CYL. (check intake and exhaust for loose zero at 1.5 turns out)

2. turn counter clockwise 180 deg (do same for #2)

3. turn counter clockwise 180 deg (do same for #3)

4. turn counter clockwise 180 deg (do same for #4)

once I see that the same pushrod length works same for all I measure (which is how I got the above)...

Going to check this 2 more times... and I will report back if that measurement changes... Thanks, and yes I can read a caliper... I am just not interested in risking another 100.00 don't have.

its 10 13/16 . the order to adjust the valves is 1 4 3 2 the same as the fireing order.

Wasn't it 1,2,3,4 if you do counter clock wise? Been a while for me... Looking it up now.
Thanks for the measurement info... I want to check it a few times in the morning to be safe...

I have a long metal ruler that reads mm, it just seems a little easier than reading fractions
