Any of you folks running a push pull style cable through the fan shroud to dual carbs? If so lease post pics!!! I am looking for ideas to hook it to my hex bar for the dual carbs... I am thinking I need a longer part on my bar so it will reach the cable, or I might need to cut the fan shroud where the cable comes through. Robl is the angle is off for the cable to reach the linkage... Pics coming. |

You will need to drill a new hole and lower the linkage connector by sliding it off the bar and indexing the linkage connector down one flat. |

Red that Is what I figured... Just wanted to be sure before I drill... That first pic is the closest I can get it and still be able to open the carb all the way up and not hit the shroud... You think I should go one step back? I want to be sure before I drill. |

Check it before you drill. But it looks like that is what is needed from a photo. I really like the coil bracket and distributor clamp. Very nice looking setup. |

Thnx Red... I am going to use that 7 foot cable till I fall into a 6 footer... so I ran it in a way that it will work for now... just need to get this end to work and I will be good. I am going to move the lever up one notch and check out the angle, I am ok if I need to lengthen it... I just want the angle to work. I wasn't sure if I was to far down or not. I will check it out. Pic's will follow when done... Any idea what to plug the hole with? I will go see if I can get something from the hardware store. I know I may have made a mistake or two with this build... all my parts are new and some are a bit over priced... but man its those things that make it yours (if you know what I mean) I am really attached to the thing... cant wait to hear it start up. Working on the rocker geometry next... after that it will run... I hope |

use some alum to exstend the carb linkage sand it so it slides in the slot and use the 2 lower bolt holes to bolt it in and drill it to fit the cable so you dont have to drill any holes |

Hmm man you might have something there... I am looking for scrap to try the idea... Might be worth a trip to the hardware store... If I do it what would I use to connect to the cable end? I would have a single flat edge... I know they have a cable end that would work but then I am afraid it would be to close to the fan shroud (might bottom out before its at WOT)... ![]() looking, I will let you know. |

take a piece of thick alum and make it look like that but sand it down in the middle to fit in the center to bolt it together |

That's how I did it. rail1914 wrote: use some alum to exstend the carb linkage sand it so it slides in the slot and use the 2 lower bolt holes to bolt it in and drill it to fit the cable so you dont have to drill any holes

I drilled the hole, had to pull he shroud and open up the inside as well so it didn't bind... Worked out well... I couldn't put the bracket on so I added a few hose clamps and some zip ties and it works great... Gotta find a plug for that hole now... ![]()

I'm glad to see this buggy being finished. It looks really nice and is coming together. Believe me, once you drive this you will think that Camaro is only for rainy days. |

thanks guys... I was worried using the flat black at first, cause my first thoughts are use what ever is shiny... But the flat black seems to make everything else stand out... I am close... if I didn't trash my pushrods, I could have started it today... getting there... |
