i recently installed a jug and piston kit (87mm). then i replaced plugs wires points condensor rotor button and cap. this was with the 009 and 34 pict 3 solex. still it ran rough. it would idle fine but wen i get goin down the road it with stumble and fall flat on its ass. i replaced the carb with the same thing just freshly rebuilt and a SVDA distributor and new points condensor cap rotor and plug wires. and it still runs like shit. i checked for leaks around the intake boots and all around the carb and where the inake meets the heads. ive tried timing it with a timing light and the timing at idle and about 3 grand is all over the place it jumps about three quarters of an inc the the right and left of the case halves. i hope you can understand what im trying to explain. what can it be.

Take the spark plug end off and clip a 1/2" off the wire and re screw it back in snuuuug.Years ago on my old Type 3 I went as far as to swap out the fuel injection wiring harness trying to figure it out. These kids working in factories after school in a far off land do not know or care when they assemble a 1000 wires a day.In the dark you will see halos, arcs and sparks all over your wires if they don't have no place to go.

Someone asked about cleaning there seat belts yesterday. I bet some KnN filter cleaner would do it.But do it like the directions say. Spray it ,then let it soak for 10 minutes, but no more(it starts getting sticky). Then rinse with hot water.

Check your endplay. If you have a lot the timing will be everywhere.
