I added an 8 pass cooler with a fan and oil filter on my top cage . I added about 1/2 qt of oil because of the added volume of the oil system. Now at idle (after warming up) my rear pully is dripping oil. I bypassed the filter and still dripping. did I add too much? Should I not add any? I previously ran an 8 pass with no fan and no filter and had no problems. |

do you have a sand seal on your pulley or a stock style? |

It is an after market degree pully that was on it when I bought the buggy. So I'm not sure. I road it before putting the cooler on and it never leaked. I just wondered if the extra 1/2 qt of oil maybe was too much. but I didnt want to run it low with the extra volume of the cooler. |

You should add more oil.. I run an extra Quart in my buggy.. However, I had to replace my aftermarket timing pulley with a sand sealed pully to get mine to stop leaking. As for the correct amount of oil, I run my engine for a few minutes, shut down the engine and then quickly check the oil level. If my buggy sits for a few hours, the stick will show too much oil but after running for a few minutes, it will show the correct amount of oil. |

OK, I bought the new sand seal pulley. I Went to install it and realized it already has one. Snugged the oil pump cover bolts thinking they were the problem. We road a little yesterday and its still leaking, not bad but a hassel knowing I gotta check the oil all the time. Looks like the pulley. I'm going to go ahead and install the new seal and pulley. |

Yeah i would go ahead and replace the seal and pulley, that should solve your problem. |

I check mine with motor running and keep it between the two marks. Run two motors without sand seal and no drips. |

Also make sure crank case breather isnt getting clogged . The pulley is first place it will push it out if pressure starts to builds up . |

New sand seal pulley and seal did the trick. Leaks gone. Are some of the pulleys cut deeper??? My belt is a little looser and I'm running no shims. |

Thats the way it was on my old pulley. But the new pulley must be cut deeper because the belt is a little more loose than before. |
