| Post subject: | Engine Build Question |
Over the weekend I built a 1915 engine. Upon doing so we had issues with the distributor clamp and the distributor gear moved a tooth. The engine is completely assembled so how do I lift that gear up far enough and turn the gear to where it should be without loosing the spacers at the bottom? Question 2; I installed the 8 dowel lightened flywheel to set the end play and now I can not get the flywheel off to install the spacers and the rear main? Any help is always greatly appreciated. |

one tooth wont matter just reset timing by turning distributor that engine does care where number 1 is bring it back up to top dead center and put wires on cap in firing order 1 4 3 2 if it moved then what happened to the thrust washers under distributor drive r they still there or did they fall in the case ?????? and the flywheel they make a tool to remove it it bolts to pressure plate bolt holes and has a long threaded piece that pushes it off or gently work it back and forth untill it comes off dont break the case |

X2 I've had an engine that was 180 out of where it was supposed to be on gear. ran perfect after wiring it right. That's why I got it so cheap. As for flywheel. something to hold the flywheel and if you have an old pressure plate to weld to a pipe to. bolt it to flywheel and hold it like that. |
