No experience with it, But doesnt doing that change the fan speed and mess with the cooling ability? |

jayrod wrote: No experience with it, But doesnt doing that change the fan speed and mess with the cooling ability? the smaller crank pulley required with a drysump slows down the fan/alt speed = less cooling, so putting a smaller alt pulley on should speed it back up i think of like the crank pulley being the front sprocket and the alt pulley being the axle sprocket on a 4 wheeler, and for example changing 1 tooth on the front sprocket was = or has the same effect as a 3 tooth change on the rear sprocket smaller on the drive sprocket = lower gearing bigger on the drive sprocket = higher gearing and the rear/driven spocket is right the opposite smaller axle sprocket = higher gearing bigger axle sprocket = lower gearing hope this didnt confuse anybody |

We have the "dry sump alt pulley" that is made of aluminum and hard anodized so wear is not a factor and does speed the alt/fan up for better cooling/battery charging....uses factory shims to adjust belt. You will see many of these on the buggies that ride D & K often and never have any problems. They cost $84.95 each and I would ship at no charge to woodsbuggy.com members! Thanks 513-868-9543 |
