I like clevite 77- H on rod bearings & mahle on cam & crank . The H bearing is for high rpm & pressure .

Gotta be careful on Mahle main bearings.
They are starting to produce the #2 split main bearing w/o the internal steel backing.

You can tell by the Mahle part number.
For example the normal all standard size Mahle part number is M70105.
The new version without that (IMHO) critical steel backing is SM70105.

Note the S at the start of the part number.
You can physically feel the difference in the weight of that bearing.
It is so much lighter.

You mite find a clevitte - p bearing in a VW . Some of the german rods & mains bearings have steel back but are hard to get. Call Drews or Davis

VW .010 under CB 780P
Buick .010 under CB 6010P

Checker/O'Rielly often has the Buick ones in stock.
