Anyone ever do this or run this setup. Ive been wondering about it, If nothing else it looks cool, Pros, Cons? Definitly looks like it cools way better |

I ran one on my 2332 Turbo Motor It seemed to work fine for the Turbo application that typically runs hotter. I have however heard pros and cons about the way it cools. Soom like Jake Rabie (type 4 expert) has done testing and two of the cylinders run hotter than the othe two. Of cource Jake is also trying sell his DTM shrould setup so I suspect there is a little bias there. |

Ic, I did a lot of reading on it last night and that name sounds familiar from one of the articles, There was a lot of talk about which setup to buy. They definitly arent cheap, But There is a little run down vw shop down the road from me, He isnt a fan of buggy guys But Im on his good side and get him to come off some parts every once in awhile. I figure maybe he'll have something maybe. Thats where i got all my thing parts etc..He has like 6things stacked up inside that place, and i couldnt tell ya how many 6ribs and porsche's and other odds and ends place Walking around in there the place is like heaven haha sets off dual carbs just laying around on the floor lol |

I was told the same thing about the cooling of the Porsche shroud being inferior, but it was from an engine builder who didn't sell one. |

Good points made. But they look so cool! lol One guy said it makes some cool sounding noise with that big fan too haha..As far as a squeak when ya hammer it i dont think that would be to big of a bother what scares me is what your sayin about the alternator seeing how i have 4 6in lights on the front of my buggy |

they make more drag on the motor, I've heard as much as a 10 hp loss. |

After hrs of reading last night Im clueless everyone has a different story , Its hard to determine But some people say the 5 blade fan uses less power, and vise versa with the 11 blade. |

Here is Jake Rabys DTM for a type 1 motor. It uses the T1 fan and alt. Might be worth looking at. http://www.aircooledtechnology.com/stor ... t=0&page=1 |

The only real way to know is to use 4 thermal couples and test the cooling of each set up. |
