Alright, Ive got a 1915, All scat engine parts. 041heads and I want more power. My plan is dual carbs, and 044 heads.. I know losing the steel wheels in the back will help with some of the power lose, Any other suggestions maybe a more particular route to go. Im open to anything. This motor is 4months old and runs great just wanna tweak it some more. I have another block Im gonna start collecting parts to build a stroker But that will go in a different frame also. But The buggy with the 1915 has great sentimental value and i dont think ill ever get rid of it. So may as well make it a lil more fun. So if you were gonna do up a 1915 what would you do with that base that i have

Also what cam are you running? Good heads and dual carbs will wake it up quite a bit. An Engle W 110 style cam will pull real hard in the rpm range you will do most your driving in. I'd get some heads from www.performanceworkshop.com. Steve will port the heads to your combination and port your intakes most of the time for less than 044s.

The Engle W125 cam is more of street strip cam. It will not pull hard in the 1000-2000 rpm range like a W 110 will. A w 125 cam In a 2275 engine with Tims Stage Two heads, 48 IDAs and 26" slicks it is a high 12 low 13 second 1/4 mile engine. :) It also makes a great sand dune or open desert engine. With a 1915 the VZ 14 cam will pull the hardest from 1000-2000 rpms and with good heads and valve springs still pull 5000 rpms. The drawback to the VZ and FK 4 series cam is your lifter bores if not sleeved with silicone bronze sleeves wear out in 10,000-20,000 miles. This is not a problem if your only driving a few hours on weekends.

Hmmm! You certainly would not have to be thinking about dumping more money into a subie to get more power! 5000 dollar big bore VW 140/150 hp, 500 dollar Stock 2.5 Subie 165 hp stock.

Yea yea But its not the same! lol BUT if i go subaru, ill need to beef my tranny up big time l, 930 cvs would be a must, definitly run into rear suspension problems cuz of weight, not to mention the size of my frame in the back being fairly small and THIS IS MY FAVORITE PART!!! If i go subaru I gotta worry about losing radiator caps and needing someone to pickup stop leak for me!!! ahhhahahha   Does that seem Ody familiar? haha

All sounds familiar except I did not lose a cap, I wanted to try a different one. And besides you and I both know the stop leak was for a VW!

Change out the camshaft. It's for drag racing, not the woods. Upgrade the heads and carburetors. Bump up the compression higher. If you want to run 93 octane you be limited to how high you can go on the compression. You will be happy with your results.

If it has a c25 run it & put 1.4 rocker on & port the 041 they have 40x35 valves & do a 3 ange valve job with a 30 bake cut on the valves . Put dual valve springs & cut for 12 to 1 & run race gas . Run dual carbs & 6' tall stakes . c35 & w110 work grate with 1.25 rocker . THe c25 is a small cam & will work with 1.4 in a 1915 . If it has a w125 you can do all that & help the TQ & drag race . If you wont call me 812-584-7644
